A four year-old girl was reported to have been kidnapped during the children thanksgiving service on Sunday, July 8. The little girl whose name is Elo Ogidi was reported to have gone outside the tent mounted in front of the church for children when the housemaid looking after her went to collect cake being shared. When the maid came back and didn’t see the girl on her seat, she raised alarm.
The incident happened at the headquarters of the Christ Embassy in Oregun, Lagos State. Up till the time of report by the Punch on Tuesday, July 10 the whereabouts of the child is not known. The parents of the child were also in the church, but in the adult department.
The Personal Assistant to Elo’s father, Mr. Solo Cosmos told the Punch what really happened that day in the following words:
“Cake was shared for the children during the thanksgiving service and the maid went to get the kid’s slices. But when she returned, she discovered that Elo was not on her seat again.
“We got information from a child that he saw Elo outside the tent where they had the children thanksgiving service. The kid said after Elo came out of the tent, a woman grabbed her and took her away.
“We immediately organized a search party but she was not found”.
The matter had been reported to the Police immediately, and it’s being investigated by the Anti-kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba and this was confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge of the Unit, Bulus Musa.
